The Joie Roomie Glide is a bedside crib that allows parents to co-sleep with their newborn whilst making sure they're safe. The smooth gliding motion of the Joie Roomie Glide will help to ease your baby's sleep and its unique features allow you to keep an eye on your child without leaving your bed.
The side panel that slides out of the cot can be lifted and lowered with just a pressing of a button. This makes it simple to reach inside and soothe a baby at night. It comes with 11 height adjustments to fit almost any mattress size and adjustable folding feet that ensure it is at the right height.
In terms of safety the cot is padded and comes with mesh sides for better ventilation, while its mattress is made from high-density foam for additional protection. It can also be cleaned and you can keep the crib clean. It includes a fitted bed sheet that can be used for the crib.
Unlike some other bedside cribs unlike other cribs for bedside use, the Roomie Glide is suitable for most beds, including divans thanks to its straps and clip attachment. It can also be used as a standalone crib when not attached to your bed and it's packed with features that are created with the bonding of parents and children in mind.
The most important thing to keep in mind is that although this crib is great for infants, it will not last long once your child is six months old, and you will need to invest in a bigger cot. The Roomie Glide is available to purchase at John Lewis for PS160, which Roanna thought was a reasonable price for a cot with these innovative features. She also liked the way it was positioned in the bedroom and thought that the grey color is a good fit for modern homes. She did mention that it's not a good idea to rock a baby in the early years because it can create a bad sleep pattern for later.
The Tutti Bambini CoZee
The Tutti Bambini CoZee bedside crib is designed to give you a good night's rest. It has a drop side rail which can be easily lowered to feed your baby at night without having to wake your child or get up - it's ideal for mothers who are breastfeeding! It is also lightweight and easy to move around during nap time or for travel.
It's made from soft materials and features breathable mesh sides to promote airflow. It is available in charcoal or oak with a variety of melange fabrics that blend with all styles of decor. Anna found it solid and secure when it was attached to her bed with the legs firmly snapping into place and the zips secure for baby-safety. It took her about 10 minutes to assemble and didn't require tools, with clear instructions and a video or support number available if you encounter any issues.
As well as the usual features you'd expect from a bedside crib such as the ability to connect to your bed using a stay-in place connection system and six levels of height The CoZee also comes with an additional incline option which can be used to help alleviate reflux or congestion in babies. It's also machine washable, a must for all the dribbles, vomit and snot that come with having a new baby!
The CoZee is a fantastic option for keeping your child close during their first six months of learning to sleep independently. It can be used as a crib, changing station or toddler bed. With the addition of a sofa bed extension pack, it could be transformed into a cot. And while it will not feed your baby or magically sleep them it will rock them to send them off!
The Chicco Next2Me Magic
This is one of Chicco's more expensive options. However, it has numerous amazing features. It's designed to function as an individual side sleeper or standalone crib and is suitable from birth up to six months. It comes with a new mechanism to open and close the side panel and is easy to use, even for one-handed operation. It's also more flexible than its predecessor with 11 different height levels and feet that retract to installation under any bed.
Our testers loved the ease of use offered by the side panel which can be moved upwards and down with a single push of a button. This was particularly useful at night, as they could reach in and pick up their baby without waking them up.
It is possible to lower the side panel itself, but this isn't recommended because it increases the chance that your child could fall out of the cot. However, the patented safety locking mechanism ensures that it can only stay down when attached to the parent's bed correctly. This feature can be very beneficial for peace of mind if you're breastfeeding and require frequent nighttime feeds.
Telescopic legs enable the Chicco Next2Me Magic to be used with any bed, such as divan bases or beds with drawers. It also comes with a tilting function to help babies who are refluxy and a rocking mode to soothe them back to sleep after feeding. It's also extremely spacious and provides great ventilation due to its mesh sides.
Our testers found the Next2Me Magic easy to set up and use, however it comes with lengthy instructions. It's a bit heavier than some of the other side-sleepers, however it's fairly mobile and can be moved from room to room with ease. It's also able to fold into a travel bag which is ideal when you need to transport it. The only thing our test subjects found was that the side panel did not flex as much compared to other models. This made it a bit harder to observe your baby from the bed.
The Shnuggle Air
If you're looking for a crib for your bed that will expand with your child then the Shnuggle Air is definitely worth considering. It's a crib for co-sleeping that is securely attached to your bed and can be turned into a stylish cot when your baby is old enough. It is ideal for feeding your baby at night and enhancing the bond you have with your newborn.
The Shnuggle Air crib is designed to breathe, unlike some other models. The dual-view mesh side panels and airflow mattress that is hypoallergenic and breathable increase airflow and keep your baby cool and comfortable. The gentle slope can help alleviate colic and reflux. The zip-down side allows you to feed your baby or soothe them at night.
The kit for conversion to cot is also well-designed with clear instructions. It includes everything you require. It took us an hour to complete and was fairly straightforward. The only drawback was the absence of captions written on some of the pictures which made it difficult to comprehend some of the steps. However, it was a simple process and the quality of materials used was high.
The Shnuggle Air is a great choice for mothers who are nursing or have had an e-csection. It allows them to reach out and touch their baby to comfort them and feeding without having to leave their bed. It's a great option for parents who don't want the stress of putting their child in a traditional cot or even getting them out of it.
The gliding motion was found to be very helpful in lulling babies into sleep following meals at night or midday. The drop-down side can be easily accessed to feed or soothe babies during the middle of the night, which was a real benefit for our exhausted test moms. While it doesn't rock or come with extra features such as a sound system the Joie Roomie Glide's elegant design and practicality are a welcome addition to our top crib reviews for bed.
